Villa are reportedly trying to sign versatile Celta Vigo defender Mingueza in January, which could help Barcelona financially. According to Mundo Deportivo, the 25-year-old, who joined Vigo from Barca in 2022, has a €20 million (£16.5m) release clause, and if he is sold, 50 per cent of those funds will go to the Catalan outfit.

Barcelona have tried and failed to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the season but they do not have the funds to do so at present. Therefore, a cash injection such as Mingueza's would be a welcome boost and can help solve the Spanish team's financial concerns.
