Chelsea captain Reece James has struck a bullish tone amid his team's chances of achieving a double goal for the 2024/25 campaign.

James was on target for the Blues as they edged out Copenhagen 2-1 in the first leg of their Europa Conference League round of 16 clash on Thursday. After guiding his team to glory in Europe, the club captain now aims to maintain the winning momentum in the Premier League as well as he remained confident that the west London side will win the Conference League and qualify for next season's Champions League.

Speaking to the club's official website, James said: "We have another game in a few days against Leicester and now it’s the business end of the season. It’s time to kick on and keep the wins going. Building momentum is key. We have our goals of winning the Conference League and qualifying for the Champions League. I have zero doubts in achieving that. We look forward to our next few games."

While James remained optimistic of finishing among the top four teams, manager Enzo Maresca previously claimed that the Blues are ahead of schedule in terms of fulfilling the club's target for the 2024-25 season as set by the owners.
The Italian had told : "The club asked to play Champions League in two years. If we are able to bring this club after one year, it will be fantastic. In the next five to 10 years, Chelsea will be one of the teams, or the team, that is going to dominate English football."
