As 2024 comes to an end, in his column for the , Savage named his best Premier League Team of 2024, along with the best player of the calendar year according to the former midfielder. Despite Manchester City winning the league title in the 2023-24 season, Savage picked Nottingham Forest as the best club of the year for their incredible start to the 2024-25 campaign.

He also chose Cole Palmer as the best player of the year for his sensational form for Chelsea while Enzo Maresca has been picked as the manager of the season for helping Chelsea regain their form and confidence. Under the Italian coach's tutelage, the Blues have lost twice in the league this season and are two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Finally in the Team of 2024, Savage included Palmer and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah alongside Ballon d'Or winner Rodri and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot also made the cut, however, Bukayo Saka missed out.
