Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp feels he is the right man to take the Anfield club to the next level.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager replaced Brendan Rodgers in the Reds hot seat last season and has restored a feel-good factor around the Merseyside club.
Klopp is held in the highest of regards after transforming Dortmund from a sleeping giant to Germany’s top team, winning consecutive league titles, and also guided the Bundesliga club to a Champions League final.
The outspoken and animated character is already popular among the fans and players at Liverpool, with a feeling that he can lead the Merseyside club back to the glory days.
Klopp has spoken candidly about his distaste for the furore around football transfers, while he has stated that he is a committed coach who can help Liverpool to reach their full potential.
“This is a crazy time where football is, for some people, the most serious thing in the world, but no-one really cares about it,” Klopp told The Daily Mail.
“Look at the transfers: all everyone wants to know is what happens. They never want to know what it means behind, for this team, for that team.”
“It’s just, ‘Come on — give me the next big signing’. To be cool enough to stay out of this colourful world around football, that is what I do. I’m not part of that, I’m not there, I don’t enjoy it.”
“My car knows only one way — home to here, here to home. There are more exciting lives around. The day I step back, I will never miss any of the world around football. Without being the most confident person in the world, I think I am the right person for Liverpool.”
“I can’t score goals and I can’t make saves. I am not saying I am the best manager in the world, either. But I’m quite good and I am one of those managers who is really interested in structure.”
Liverpool have started their new Premier League campaign with four points from three games, beating Arsenal, losing to Burnley and drawing with Tottenham Hotspur.
